Getting Started with robots
Can I use an Octiva robot in my greenhouse?
In most modern standard greenhouses, our robots can operate. Our Xenion base is available for most common pipe rail widths and also without pipe rail systems. Even when row lengths or dimensions are not identical, or you have poles or other technical systems in place, we are able to drive around.
Do I need to modify my greenhouse to get started?
No. Octiva robots don’t require any structural changes to your greenhouse. The system operates using pipe rails or visual lane-keeping systems to navigate through your greenhouse. It only requires Wi-Fi at the charging station of the robot.
Can I use Octiva robots in greenhouses without a piperail?
Yes. In greenhouses without pipe rail systems, our robots navigate seemlessly.
I plan to install pipe rail systems in the future. Do I need another robot to match my new situation?
No, alternative wheel configurations provide a flexibel solution for future greenhouse upgrades.
I do not have Wi-Fi coverage throughout the entire greenhouse. Will the robot function still?
Yes. Robots only require Wi-Fi at the charging station. No Wi-Fi connection is needed during operation.
Do I need to go into the greenhouse every night to start the process?
No. You can schedule treatments in advance using delayed start or automated operation settings.
Can I use the same robot in different greenhouses?
Yes. Rail robots require identical rail systems, but the robot itself can be configured for multiple greenhouse environments.
A UV-C robot sounds expensive. How will I know it is worth the investment?
Most customers report a return on investment within 1 to 2 years. Besides reducing chemical use, the robots also save time and help protect crop quality and yield.
Daily Operation
Can I change the treatment area of the robot?
Yes. Through the Octiva smartphone app, you can easily set the start and end point of each treatment, including the start time.
How can I follow the progress of a treatment?
Octiva offers an online platform that provides a greenhouse floorplan with a clear overview of completed treatments and robot activity.
Implements & Flexibility
Can I change the implements myself?
Yes. Xenion Connect is equipped with a docking system that allows implement changes within minutes. Using the Octiva app, you can unlock the current implement, switch to another one and continue operation immediately.
Can every Xenion connect be equipped with every type of implemented
Yes. All implements are compatible with every version of Xenion Connect.
Safety
What happens if the robot collides with a person?
All Octiva robots are equipped with integrated safety systems. If the robot collides with a person or obstacle, the safety cushion is activated and the robot stops immediately.
How will I know if the robot has failed, and what caused the failure?
If an incident occurs, you will receive a notification on your smartphone. The Octiva app will display the issue and provide information about the cause of the failure.

How can I get support for my Octiva product?
Octiva support is available every workday between 08:30 and 17:00 (CET) via WhatsApp or phone at +31 6 29 29 12 53. WhatsApp is preferred for sharing photos and videos.
I am not very technical myself, is it a good idea to buy a robot?
No worries. Octiva robots are connected systems that can be remotely updated, monitored and supported by our team. There is not a lot of technical knowledge needed to operate the system, thanks to a very intuitive app. We can foresee in training and are available for any question you may have about your robot.
Renion Spraying Implement
How does an autonomous sprayer work in my greenhouse?
The Renion implement can be used in combination with the Xenion connect robot platform. As a user you can fill the tank and use the app to setup the robot. You can select the volume, location, starting time, etc in the app. After this, the robot will start at the set time and finish the treatment accordingly.
